Online Course: Managerial Accounting in Mining
An exciting addition to EduMine’s online course library is now available - Craig Emby’s “Managerial Accounting in Mining.”
The overall discipline of accounting is usually divided into two distinct sub-disciplines - financial accounting and managerial accounting. While the two are similar in that they both generate and use financial information, they do so in very different ways for very different purposes.
Managerial accounting is concerned with generating and analyzing internal accounting information as a tool for helping managers make business decisions. This focus means that managerial accounting is oriented to the future. It may make use of information about the past performance of the organization, in fact it may be information generated by the financial accounting system, but that information’s primary value is in helping managers make decisions about future courses of action that an entity should undertake.
