New EduMine short course: Cost Estimating for Underground Mine Engineering

Cost Estimating for Underground Mine EngineeringEduMine is presenting a brand new short course this 2-3 June, 2011 in Vancouver, instructed by Scott Stebbins.

This course provides engineers and evaluators the opportunity to produce detailed, engineering-based cost estimates for underground mines. Participants will have the opportunity to estimate the costs of a series of underground mine design alternatives, and then use these estimates in conjunction with discounted cash flow analysis techniques to identify the most economically advantageous approach. In addition to instruction in basic underground cost estimating techniques, course participants will learn to balance the size of underground openings with the associated ventilation requirements and, from a cost perspective, evaluate ramp haul and hoisting alternatives. In addition, ancillary system costs relevant to the design alternatives are identified and estimated, and then incorporated into the overall analysis.
