Edumine Webinar: Structural Geology in Geotechnical Mining Risk Management

Edumine is pleased to introduce this short webinar on structural geology presented by Dr. Wayne Barnett of SRK in Vancouver.

Course Summary:

The objectives of this course are to show you why structural geology is so important in mining operations and to illustrate how to define the structural geology for mining studies.

Structural geology-related problems can commonly be managed or engineered at a cost, particularly if identified early enough. However they can cause operating costs or risks to escalate beyond tolerance and cause premature project closure.

Duration: 1h 18 mins

w_barnettDr. Wayne Barnett, Principal Structural Geologist, PhD, PrSciNat.

Wayne is a Principal Structural Consultant with 19 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry. Dr. Barnett has certification in rock mechanics and has operated as a geotechnical engineer on two mining operations (8 years mining experience). Consequently he specializes in defining the structural geology of mining projects in order to properly characterize the rock mass for geotechnical engineering applications—for scoping to pre-feasibility studies, as well problem-solving in active mining operations.
