In Memoriam: Otto Schumacher

We are sad to announce that Otto Schumacher, Edumine online course author and short course presenter, passed away on September 27, 2018 at age 76 in Spokane, WA, USA. Otto worked as a mining engineer and geologist in underground mine operations for base and precious metals, and exploration projects for uranium and iron. He specialized in mining cost and economic analysis when he joined the U.S. Bureau of Mines as Supervisor, Mining Feasibility Analysis Group, where he was responsible for development of aspects of Bureau

InfoMine Gives Back with We Care Program

Earlier this year, InfoMine started We Care, a program where employees volunteer their time and make an impact together in the community. Certificate in Mining Studies Survey … Key Findings

This article presents the key findings of a program evaluation survey of students that registered for the Certificate in Mining Studies (CMS) Program. The survey was conducted from November 2016 – January 2017. The survey audience was 63 respondents out of more than 300 CMS registrants. Tim Shaw – In Memoriam

We are sad to announce that Professor Tim Shaw, EduMine author, passed away on April 21st, at the age of 82. Professor Shaw was Emeritus Professor of Mining Engineering at Imperial College London, having retired in 2001 after being appointed to the Chair in Mining Engineering at the Royal School of Mines in 1980.
